Personal

Luna and Bike

I think I love photographing 3 year old’s. There is no instinct to smile in front of a camera or pose a certain way. It’s just them as they are, wild and free and filled with personality.

Portland

Oh Portland you stole my heart. Oregon is just insanely beautiful. Here are a few landscapes that I took. Can’t wait to go back some day.

Ohio Road Trip

This past weekend I had the opportunity to take a mini road trip with my husband. This is a tiny recap of what we did and see. The first night we ended up in Short North down in Columbus. If you’ve never been, it’s a must go! Lot’s of cute boutiques, restaurants, and bars. While in Columbus we walked around German village then headed off to Cincinnati. I didn’t intentionally focus on photographing coffee shops, it just kind of ended up that way. The pour over coffee trend is insanely popular everywhere. The best coffee I’ve ever had was at 1215 down in Cincinnati. Wow. So good. Probably my favorite experience on this trip was going to the Museum Hotel. Aside from the amazing contemporary artwork in the galleries, it’s open 24 hours and at 1am after having a few drinks,  it’s so cool to see. Our last stop was Dayton. There’s a neighborhood called the Oregon district where you can grab a beer and watch a few local bands perform. On our way home we stopped at a few antique malls. I was surprised to see how many there are in Ohio! Oh and on a side note, the Hampton Inn and Crown Plaza has made me reevaluate my bedding situation. Never slept so good.

Punta Cana

Let me start off by saying this trip was planned in 3 days, spontaneity at it’s best. Dominican Republic is insanely gorgeous and rich with culture. We stayed in a condo/apartment on the beach simply because we wanted to explore the land without the restrictions of a resort. We also traveled with a friend who speaks fluent Spanish (not necessarily a must but certainly helpful). We explored the capitol Santo Domingo, went to the farmers market, saw several museums, ate authentic Dominican food, and drank a lot of Presidente’s. 5 nights of heaven… what an awesome opportunity to escape the harsh Cleveland winter and enjoy a little salty air.

Art Walk

Tremont’s art walk is held every second Friday of the month. Since I am a “Tremonster” I felt it only made sense for me to document it at least once. In my experience, the art walk is a great excuse to drink wine, walk around the neighborhood seeking unusual and beautiful art while soaking in the wonderful summer night air. I decided to shadow these three fine gentlemen while doing so.
